Privacy Policy — Hitsy

Hitsy has no accounts and no advertising inside the game. We collect first-party installation, purchase and game statistics, described below, under a random identifier and delete those records after 18 months. We also report installs and sessions to Meta to measure our Facebook and Instagram ads; only if you allow tracking in Apple's system prompt does that include your device's advertising identifier. You can play the full game without allowing tracking.

Who we are

Hitsy is developed by Emil Alexander Lindgren, a sole trader registered in Sweden. Questions about this policy: thehitsyapp@gmail.com.

What stays on your device

All of the following is stored only on your iPhone or iPad, and never leaves it except as described under “Local multiplayer” below:

Your profile name and photo, if you choose to add them.
The most recent local roster — the names and small avatars of players from your last game on this device, kept for five minutes so back-to-back games don’t require retyping, then discarded.
Your settings — language, sound preference, and whether you have seen the first-launch screens.
A random identifier generated on this device. It is a random value with no connection to you, your Apple Account, or your hardware; it exists so a phone that drops out of a multiplayer game can be matched back to its own player slot when it rejoins.
Cached song information from Apple’s catalogue, so the same song does not have to be looked up twice.
Your game progress — stars earned and abilities owned.

Deleting the app removes all of it, with two exceptions kept in your own iCloud and on the device so they survive a reinstall: your Dagens Hitsy history, and which card packs you have already played your one free game of.

Local multiplayer

When you play with other devices in the same room, Hitsy connects them directly to each other over Wi-Fi and Bluetooth using Apple’s Multipeer Connectivity framework. No internet server is involved and the connection is encrypted by iOS.

During a game, your device sends the following to the other devices taking part:

Your profile name and photo, so the other players can see whose turn it is
Your chosen player colour
The random device identifier described above
Whether the device owns every card pack — this only controls a badge in the lobby
Game moves and scores

This information goes only to the devices you are playing with, only while you are playing, and only to the extent needed to run the game. We never receive it.

What we collect, and why

We advertise Hitsy on the App Store. To know which of those adverts are worth paying for, the app records the following once, the first time it is opened:

A random installation identifier — a value generated on your device for this app alone. It is not Apple's advertising identifier, not your device's identifier, and not derived from anything you or your hardware own. Deleting the app destroys it; reinstalling creates an unrelated new one.
Apple's attribution token, which Apple exchanges for the campaign, ad group and search term that led to the installation — or for the answer “not from an advert”. Apple states that this token identifies neither user nor device.
Your App Store region (for example SE or GB) and the app version.

If you later buy a card pack, we additionally record that a purchase was made and which product — joined to the same random identifier. That join is the whole point: it is what tells us an advert produced a buyer rather than only a download.

Game statistics. When a game is played, the device that started it records which card pack it was, how many players, whether phones were connected, whether it was a free first game, and how many rounds and minutes it lasted. For Dagens Hitsy it records the day, how many cards you reached and how many stars. No names, no answers and nothing you type are included. We use it to see which packs are played and whether Dagens Hitsy is worth building on.

None of it is linked to your name, email address or Apple Account, and we cannot identify you from it. These first-party records are not sent to Meta, combined with third-party records or sold. The Meta measurement below is separate.

These records are held in our own database, hosted by Supabase in Stockholm, in the EU. They are deleted automatically 18 months after they are written.

Meta advertising measurement

Once you have answered Apple's tracking prompt, Hitsy starts the Meta SDK and reports app installs and sessions to Meta, together with a random identifier the Meta SDK creates for this installation and technical information such as app version, device characteristics, locale and network metadata. Meta may also receive diagnostic information about crashes in its SDK. We do not send player names, photos, answers, music history or purchase events to Meta.

If you allow tracking, these reports also carry your device's advertising identifier, and Meta can match them to activity on its services to measure our ads. If you decline, no advertising identifier is sent, and Meta uses the reports only in aggregate (its Aggregated Event Measurement). If Apple reports tracking as restricted on your device, the Meta SDK is not started at all. Apple's SKAdNetwork can also provide aggregate installation attribution without sharing a tracking identifier with us. You can change your choice in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. Tracking permission does not affect gameplay.

Meta handles the data it receives according to its Privacy Policy, including its retention and privacy-rights processes. Our 18-month deletion schedule applies to our own database, not to Meta's records.

Content the app downloads

Card packs and the daily challenge are published by us and fetched by the app so that new music can arrive without an update. These requests are identical for every device — they carry no identifier, no account and no query of any kind — so we cannot tell who asked, or how often.

Camera and photo library

If you set a profile picture, Hitsy asks for access to your camera or photo library. The image you pick is stored on your device and shared with the other players in a local game as described above. Nothing else in your photo library is read, and no image is uploaded anywhere.

Apple services

Hitsy plays music through Apple Music, and uses Apple’s services in four ways:

Apple Music (MusicKit). With your permission, the app plays songs through your Apple Music subscription, or 30-second previews if you do not have one. Your interaction with Apple Music is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy, not this one.
Apple’s iTunes Search API. The app looks up song details and preview audio. These requests contain song titles and artist names — never anything about you.
Purchases. Card packs and Hitsy Complete are sold as one-time purchases and billed by Apple. Payment details are handled entirely by Apple; we never see your card, address, or Apple Account.
Apple Ads attribution (AdServices). The source of the attribution token described under “What we collect”. It is Apple’s own first-party measurement of our own adverts, and requires no tracking permission.

Children

Hitsy is rated 13+ because it plays commercially released popular music, whose lyrics are not under our control. Our first-party records contain no name, age, contact detail or location. The Meta SDK is not started when Apple reports tracking as restricted, and no advertising identifier is shared with Meta unless tracking is allowed.

How long we keep it, and your rights

The records described under “What we collect” are deleted 18 months after they are written. That happens automatically, on a schedule, whether or not anyone asks.

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct and erase personal data held about you. The information described under “What stays on your device” is erased when you delete the app, subject to the iCloud exceptions above. Meta provides its own privacy-rights process for optional advertising measurement data, linked above.

For our own records described under “What we collect”, it is worth being plain about this: they are deliberately built so that we cannot identify you. We hold no name, email address or Apple Account, and nothing that would let us connect a record to the person reading this — so if you write and ask us to find or erase “your” data, we genuinely cannot locate it, and the GDPR does not require us to collect more information about you in order to try. If you are able to supply the random installation identifier itself, we will delete the matching records on request. Otherwise they expire on their own within 18 months.

If you believe any of this is wrong, contact us at the address above. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY).

Changes

If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted at this address with a new date at the top. Material changes will also be noted in the app’s release notes.

Integritetspolicy — Hitsy

Hitsy har inga konton och ingen reklam inuti spelet. Vi samlar in egen installations-, köp- och spelstatistik enligt beskrivningen nedan, under en slumpad identifierare, och raderar dessa uppgifter efter 18 månader. Vi rapporterar även installationer och appsessioner till Meta för att mäta våra Facebook- och Instagramannonser; enhetens annonsidentifierare följer bara med om du tillåter spårning i Apples systemdialog. Du kan spela hela spelet utan att tillåta spårning.

Vem vi är

Det som stannar på din enhet

Allt nedanstående lagras enbart på din iPhone eller iPad och lämnar den aldrig, utom enligt ”Lokal flerspelare” nedan:

Ditt profilnamn och din profilbild, om du väljer att lägga till dem.
Den senaste lokala spelaruppsättningen — namn och små avatarer från ditt förra spel på enheten, sparade i fem minuter så att två spel i rad inte kräver att alla skriver in sig igen, därefter raderade.
Dina inställningar — språk, ljudval och om du har sett introduktionsskärmarna.
En slumpmässig identifierare som skapas på enheten. Den är ett slumpvärde utan koppling till dig, ditt Apple-konto eller din hårdvara, och finns för att en telefon som tappar kontakten under ett flerspelarspel ska kunna matchas tillbaka till rätt spelarplats.
Cachad låtinformation från Apples katalog, så att samma låt inte behöver slås upp två gånger.
Dina framsteg i spelet — intjänade stjärnor och köpta förmågor.

Om du raderar appen försvinner allt detta, med två undantag som sparas i ditt eget iCloud och på enheten så att de överlever en ominstallation: din historik i Dagens Hitsy, och vilka kortlekar du redan har spelat din gratismatch i.

Lokal flerspelare

När du spelar med andra enheter i samma rum kopplar Hitsy ihop dem direkt med varandra över wifi och Bluetooth med Apples ramverk Multipeer Connectivity. Ingen server på internet är inblandad, och anslutningen krypteras av iOS.

Under ett spel skickar din enhet följande till de andra enheterna som deltar:

Ditt profilnamn och din profilbild, så att övriga ser vems tur det är
Din valda spelarfärg
Den slumpmässiga enhetsidentifieraren som beskrivs ovan
Om enheten äger alla kortlekar — det styr endast en märkning i lobbyn
Speldrag och poäng

Uppgifterna går bara till de enheter du spelar med, bara medan ni spelar, och bara i den omfattning spelet kräver. Vi tar aldrig emot dem.

Vad vi samlar in, och varför

Vi annonserar för Hitsy på App Store. För att veta vilka av de annonserna som är värda att betala för registrerar appen följande en gång, första gången den öppnas:

En slumpmässig installationsidentifierare — ett värde som skapas på din enhet för enbart den här appen. Det är inte Apples annonsidentifierare, inte enhetens identifierare, och det härleds inte ur något som du eller din hårdvara äger. Raderar du appen försvinner det; installerar du om skapas ett nytt, utan samband med det gamla.
Apples attributionstoken, som Apple växlar in mot den kampanj, annonsgrupp och sökterm som ledde till installationen — eller mot svaret ”kom inte från en annons”. Apple anger att denna token varken identifierar användare eller enhet.
Din App Store-region (till exempel SE eller GB) och appens version.

Om du senare köper en kortlek registrerar vi dessutom att ett köp gjorts och vilken produkt det gäller — kopplat till samma slumpmässiga identifierare. Den kopplingen är hela poängen: det är den som visar att en annons gav en köpare och inte bara en nedladdning.

Spelstatistik. När ett spel spelas registrerar enheten som startade det vilken kortlek det var, hur många spelare, om telefoner var ihopkopplade, om det var en gratismatch, och hur många rundor och minuter det varade. För Dagens Hitsy registreras dagen, hur många kort du nådde och hur många stjärnor. Inga namn, inga svar och inget du skriver ingår. Vi använder det för att se vilka kortlekar som spelas och om Dagens Hitsy är värt att bygga vidare på.

Inget av detta kopplas till ditt namn, din e-postadress eller ditt Apple-konto, och vi kan inte identifiera dig utifrån det. Dessa egna uppgifter skickas inte till Meta, sammanförs inte med tredjepartsuppgifter och säljs inte. Meta-mätningen nedan är separat.

Uppgifterna finns i vår egen databas, som driftas av Supabase i Stockholm, inom EU. De raderas automatiskt 18 månader efter att de skrevs.

Annonsmätning med Meta

När du har svarat på Apples spårningsförfrågan startar Hitsy Meta SDK och rapporterar installationer och appsessioner till Meta, tillsammans med en slumpad identifierare som Meta SDK skapar för installationen och tekniska uppgifter som appversion, enhetsegenskaper, språk och nätverksmetadata. Meta kan även få diagnostik om krascher i sin SDK. Vi skickar inte spelarnamn, bilder, svar, musikhistorik eller köphändelser till Meta.

Om du tillåter spårning följer enhetens annonsidentifierare med, och Meta kan matcha rapporterna med aktivitet i sina tjänster för att mäta våra annonser. Om du nekar skickas ingen annonsidentifierare, och Meta använder rapporterna bara sammanställda (Metas Aggregated Event Measurement). Om Apple anger att spårning är begränsad på enheten startas Meta SDK inte alls. Apples SKAdNetwork kan dessutom ge aggregerad installationsmätning utan att dela någon spårningsidentifierare med oss. Du kan ändra ditt val i iOS Inställningar → Integritet och säkerhet → Spårning. Spårningstillstånd påverkar inte spelet.

Meta hanterar uppgifterna enligt sin integritetspolicy, inklusive lagringstid och rättigheter. Vår radering efter 18 månader gäller vår egen databas, inte Metas uppgifter.

Innehåll som appen hämtar

Kortlekar och Dagens Hitsy publiceras av oss och hämtas av appen, så att ny musik kan tillkomma utan en uppdatering. De förfrågningarna är identiska för varje enhet — de bär ingen identifierare, inget konto och inga sökparametrar — så vi kan inte se vem som frågade, eller hur ofta.

Kamera och bildbibliotek

Om du väljer en profilbild ber Hitsy om åtkomst till kameran eller bildbiblioteket. Bilden du väljer sparas på din enhet och delas med övriga spelare i ett lokalt spel enligt ovan. Inget annat i ditt bildbibliotek läses, och ingen bild laddas upp någonstans.

Apples tjänster

Hitsy spelar musik via Apple Music och använder Apples tjänster på fyra sätt:

Apple Music (MusicKit). Med din tillåtelse spelar appen låtar via ditt Apple Music-abonnemang, eller 30-sekunders förhandslyssningar om du saknar abonnemang. Din användning av Apple Music omfattas av Apples integritetspolicy, inte denna.
Apples iTunes Search API. Appen slår upp låtuppgifter och ljudklipp. Förfrågningarna innehåller låttitlar och artistnamn — aldrig något om dig.
Köp. Kortlekar och Hela Hitsy säljs som engångsköp och faktureras av Apple. Betalningsuppgifter hanteras helt av Apple; vi ser aldrig ditt kort, din adress eller ditt Apple-konto.
Annonsattribution (AdServices). Källan till den attributionstoken som beskrivs under ”Vad vi samlar in”. Det är Apples egen mätning av våra egna annonser och kräver ingen spårningstillåtelse.

Barn

Hitsy har åldersgränsen 13+ eftersom appen spelar kommersiellt utgiven populärmusik vars texter vi inte råder över. Våra egna statistikuppgifter innehåller varken namn, ålder, kontaktuppgift eller plats. Meta SDK startas inte när Apple anger att spårning är begränsad, och ingen annonsidentifierare delas med Meta om du inte tillåter spårning.

Hur länge vi sparar, och dina rättigheter

Uppgifterna som beskrivs under ”Vad vi samlar in” raderas 18 månader efter att de skrevs. Det sker automatiskt, enligt ett schema, oavsett om någon ber om det.

Enligt GDPR har du rätt att få tillgång till, rätta och radera personuppgifter om dig. Uppgifterna under ”Vad som stannar på din enhet” raderas när du tar bort appen, med de iCloud-undantag som beskrivs ovan. Meta har en egen process för integritetsrättigheter för den valfria annonsmätningen, via länken ovan.

För våra egna uppgifter under ”Vad vi samlar in” är det värt att säga detta rakt ut: de är medvetet byggda så att vi inte kan identifiera dig. Vi har varken namn, e-postadress eller Apple-konto, och inget som skulle låta oss koppla en uppgift till den som läser det här — så om du skriver och ber oss hitta eller radera ”dina” uppgifter kan vi faktiskt inte lokalisera dem, och GDPR kräver inte att vi samlar in mer information om dig för att försöka. Kan du uppge själva den slumpmässiga installationsidentifieraren raderar vi motsvarande uppgifter på begäran. I annat fall upphör de av sig själva inom 18 månader.

Ändringar

Om policyn ändras publiceras den nya versionen på denna adress med ett nytt datum högst upp. Väsentliga ändringar noteras även i appens versionsinformation.
